On Sunday, November 9, Senior Kathryn Lockhart was invited by Pickaway County Library Director Drew Wichterman to attend the prestigious Dayton Literary Peace Prize Awards Ceremony and Gala. Kathryn was nominated by her teacher, Mr. English, to represent Westfall at the event.
The Dayton Literary Peace Prize (DLPP), established in 2006, is the first and only annual U.S. literary award recognizing authors and their works for promoting peace. This year marked the 20th anniversary of the DLPP. Highly acclaimed author Sir Ahmed Salman Rushdie received the 2025 Ambassador Richard C. Holbrooke Distinguished Achievement Award, and Kathryn had the opportunity to meet him at the event.
Congratulations to Kathryn on being selected to attend this extraordinary event, and many thanks to the Pickaway County Library for providing such a remarkable opportunity!

The burgers are plated up—and they look amazing! Mrs. Grady’s art students have finished their toilet paper burger creations, and the results are every bit as impressive as they are inventive. Outstanding work by our talented young artists!
Every year, Pickaway County ESC, with the help of local school National Honor Societies, hosts a Leadership and Ethics Conference to help students strengthen their leadership skills and character.
This year’s conference was held on Friday, October 24, where students worked in groups, rotating through sessions focused on leadership, ethics, meeting etiquette, and more. It was a valuable day of collaboration, learning, and personal growth for our NHS students, and they did a great job!

The Westfall eSports Fall Season wrapped up this past week with exciting results!
Our Marvel Rivals team took second place overall in the state! As the newest game offered at Westfall, Marvel Rivals drew a lot of interest this season. Team Captain Jake Lindsey and Brenner Burke led the team in eliminations and proved to be strong leaders throughout the competition.
The Fortnite team also had an outstanding season, going undefeated and setting their sights on another run to the state finals. The team has competed in the OHSAA State Finals for the past four years and is expanding for the Winter Season as they continue to push for the top spot.
Congratulations!!
