This week, we introduced the DARE program to our first-grade classrooms. Our students are learning important safety skills, including when to call 911 and how to recognize stop signs, railroad crossings, and other important safety symbols that help keep them safe.
A big thank-you to our amazing SRO and DARE officer, Deputy Freeman, for leading this program and helping our students build confidence, responsibility, and essential life skills!
We're also grateful to the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office and the Ruth Neff DARE Fund for their continued support of programs like this. We look forward to seeing our students continue to learn, grow, and put these important lessons into practice throughout the school year!

Our preschool classes had some special guests visit today: Haley and Mr. Malakai!
Haley, a pet care professional, brought Malakai along to help our preschoolers learn how to interact with dogs safely and kindly. Through a fun, hands-on presentation, the children learned about dog body language, safe interactions, and the importance of respecting boundaries and consent—with Malakai helping demonstrate along the way!
Fun fact: Haley is PM Preschooler Violet's mom!
A big thank you to Haley, Malakai, and All Paws Retreat for sharing this wonderful learning experience with our preschoolers!
