Adleigh’s dad, John Carle, visited Mr. Payne’s Kindergarten classroom for a Workshop with Dads! He read “Buffalo Fluffalo” before helping the students create their own fluffy buffalo to take home!

Mr. Payne’s class invites fathers, grandfathers, or any special father figure to join the class for an engaging, memorable classroom workshop. The workshop involves reading a favorite children’s book and helping with a simple craft project.

This initiative celebrates the role fathers play in their children’s lives and encourages their involvement in our school community. Thank you, Mr. Carle, for joining us!

In February, our students participated in Club Invention, an engaging STEM experience made possible through a community partnership between OSU Extension Pickaway County, Club Invention (National Inventors Hall of Fame), and the Pickaway County Educational Service Center (ESC).

This year’s curriculum, Bolder Builders, challenged students to become engineers, architects, and problem-solvers as they worked to rebuild the fictional town of "Unlucky" alongside character Archie Tek. Through hands-on, collaborative design challenges, students constructed bridges, buildings, and animal habitats while exploring real-world concepts such as structural stability, material strength, biomimicry, and the impact of natural disasters on communities.

The revised 2025-2026 district calendar is attached. Calamity days serve as make-up days if delays and/or closures exceed state-mandated minimum hours of instruction for our students. This revision adds three calamity days—June 1, 2, and 3—to the current 2025–2026 calendar. The Board of Education approved the revised calendar at its February 17, 2026, regular meeting. Additionally, the memorandum of understanding with the WEA to add calamity days to the district calendar was approved at the January 12, 2026, regular meeting.
