Our Mustang Buddies spent the afternoon together yesterday and had a fun time decorating their t-shirts! Their buddies even autographed their creations! Great job, Mustangs!

Tuesday was Election Day, and our students joined in on the excitement with their very own snack election! They had the tough task of choosing between pretzels and Goldfish. What a tough decision!
Our preschool bunny, Clara, joined the fun with a special write-in vote of her own!
The results are in! 339 votes for Goldfish, 180 votes for pretzels, and one vote for carrots! Goldfish is the winner!! Our students will enjoy Goldfish crackers as a reward!

We had a wonderful Friday afternoon celebrating the fall season with Harvest Parties! Thank you to our families, volunteers, and those who donated to make it a very special day!

It was such a special day in Mrs. Woods’ 2nd-grade classroom! Mrs. Dawn and Mrs. Woods’ mom, Mrs. Claudia, joined us to help the students bake pumpkin bread. The class worked together carefully measuring each ingredient and taking turns mixing the dry and wet ingredients before heading down to the cafeteria to bake.
Once the bread was ready, everyone had the chance to taste their creation—and it was unanimously declared the best thing they’ve ever tasted! A big thank-you to Mrs. Dawn, Mrs. Claudia, and the wonderful ladies in our cafeteria for helping make this fun and delicious project such a success!

Despite the rainy weather, Trunk or Treat was still a huge success after moving indoors! Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a fun night. We loved seeing all the creative candy stations, imaginative costumes, and the incredible support from our community.
A big thank-you to Student Council, WES Field of Dreams, and everyone who participated in making this a great event for our families!

As part of our PBIS program, students can earn tickets or points to purchase items or experiences from our Mustang PRIDE Store. One of the experiences available this year was a field trip to Deer Creek State Park. Students had to save 100 tickets to sign up and go. A total of 34 students in grades K–5 earned the trip and enjoyed a great day!
They visited the campground, had lunch, and completed a leaf journal activity with Naturalist Rylee. During their walk around the campground, students created leaf rubbings and learned to identify the trees they came from. The trip wrapped up with some fun at the playground before heading back to school!

Miss Wolfe’s third-grade class has tackled an exciting project this fall—bringing football into the classroom! Students drafted NFL teams as part of their math lessons, tracking team and quarterback stats each week while sharpening their data skills. They’ve also practiced their writing by sending letters to the teams they drafted.
The excitement reached a whole new level when Noah Snyder, who drafted the New Orleans Saints, received a special package from the team! The Saints sent an incredible care package filled with signed Game Day programs, Media Information Guides, Posters, lanyards, pins, and more!
Thank you, New Orleans Saints, for making learning unforgettable for our students!

On Thursday, October 23, students were welcomed by the WHS Pride of the Mustangs Band before an energetic PBIS assembly, which reviewed expectations for positive behavior this school year.
To keep the excitement going, our principals faced off in an energetic Principal Showdown! Six students who have consistently demonstrated positive behavior joined in the fun—racing against the clock to toss as many beach balls as possible into the “hoop!”
We also celebrated our spirit stick winners for the quarter: Mrs. Schrader’s Kindergarten class, Mrs. Woods’ 2nd-grade class, and Mrs. Moses’ 5th-grade class. Congratulations!

Way to go, Mighty Mustangs!

Students are invited to bring their Veterans to our Veterans Day Breakfast, sponsored by the Westfall Elementary Student Council! The event will include a performance by the Musical Mustangs and a special recognition of our Veterans. Donuts and coffee will be served. We look forward to celebrating with you on November 11 at 8:00 AM!

Our morning student drop-off line had a fun Halloween twist today with new traffic cones guiding cars through the line! Thank you to Joy Sharrett and Mikaela Marshall for getting in the spirit and making drop-off a little more fun for everyone!

While our students’ artwork was on display at the Pumpkin Show, an employee from The Ohio Environmental Agency loved our third graders’ art so much that she reached out to Miss Marshall to ask if it could be displayed at their National Convention, November 12–14, for more than 1,500 attendees from across the country. How exciting!
