Westfall Elementary Mustangs Student-Run Credit Union Members reached their annual goal of 100 deposits this school year! As a special treat for meeting the goal, three randomly selected members were chosen on Wednesday, May 22, to enter the "Cash Reactor!" If you remember the game show Concentration, you'll know precisely how the Cash Reactor works. The three members each had a 30-second round to enter the Reactor and catch as much cash as possible! Whatever "cash" (Atomic uses Monopoly money in the machine for safety reasons) the member caught will be generously donated into their account. Congratulations to fifth-graders Charley Reiser and Barrett Salyers and second-grader Dax Davey. Their winnings spanned from $34 - $53! Atomic Credit Union is always finding inventive ways to reward our students' positive money habits. Recently, several classes received tours of the Deer Creek Dam led by the US Army Corps of Engineers Park Rangers. Students learned how the dam was built to reduce flooding by the Scioto River and how it currently operates, holding back water and creating a storage area for excess water released when needed.

Please note: Some of our presenters on Career Day are First Responders and Emergency Medical Personnel, and these vehicles will be present on campus during student drop-off. Please do not be alarmed if you see an emergency medical vehicle on campus tomorrow. We're looking forward to a fun day of exploring future career possibilities!

Mrs. Eitels' fourth-grade class invited Superintendent Mr. Sheets to be a guest reader of a book he wrote himself. Inspired by the stories he tells his granddaughter, he wrote, "A Frog is a Frog." He gave copies to each of her students, allowing them the opportunity to be illustrators! "A Frog is a Frog" tells the story of a frog who desperately wants to be a bird. With encouragement from his fellow frog friend, he realizes that he is special just as he is.

5th Grade Clap Out
At the beginning of the fourth nine weeks, the PBIS team challenged students to finish the school year strong by showing kindness toward others, going above and beyond each day, producing quality work, cooperating and persevering, and doing things without being asked. To celebrate the results of that incentive, students were treated to a cookout with hotdogs, potato chips, and popsicles!
