Third-grader Flynn Rauch redeemed her PBIS incentive tickets to have the opportunity to read one of her favorite books to Mrs. Bright's second-grade class last week! Flynn was a student in Mrs. Bright's class last year and enjoyed having guest readers visit, and now she is one! What a great way to spend your good behavior incentive, Flynn!
Mrs. Woods' second-grade students rolled up their sleeves and made delicious pumpkin bread from scratch on Friday! They learned the importance of following the steps of a recipe, the difference between dry and wet ingredients, and tackled the delicate art of cracking eggs—who knew baking could be so much fun? The class loved the final product; one student even rated it a 10/10!
The preschool took a Halloween field trip to Lohstroh Family Farms on Thursday. They took a hay ride into the field to pick their own pumpkin and participated in activities around the farm. Thank you, Lohstroh Family Farms, for all the wonderful memories!

Can't decide whether it's right for your child? There will be a free camp on November 12 and 13 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the wrestling room for children ages 4-13 to try it out and see if they would be interested in signing up.
Congratulations to third grader Flynn Rauch, who has been selected to perform as a page in BalletMet's professional production of The Nutcracker. She's excited and honored to have the opportunity to perform with such talented professional dancers. BalletMet's The Nutcracker runs December 12-28. Performance tickets are available through the CAPA ticket office. Good luck, Flynn!
This week in music, the 5th graders completed an Escape Room! Their group completed five musical tasks around the room.
Tasks included identifying notes on the music staff, composing their own rhythms, answering questions about the known solfa in songs, matching up rhythms from songs, and identifying the form of a song- all things that happen weekly in music class, but now they had to do them independently!
Groups had to cooperate, communicate, and work together effectively to complete the tasks before time ran out. After completing each task, they earned a number that was part of the code for a lock box. Once they unlocked the box, they discovered a key to unlock another box to receive their prize- candy!
