CIRCLEVILLE — On Thursday, April 30, two Westfall seniors visited Circleville Noon Rotary — the last visit for the year before school is out for the summer.
One of the Westfall students was Caleb Lowe. He also attends Pickaway-Ross’ sports med program. He has been involved with Big Brother, Big Sister, where the older students mentor the younger students. He is active in the Pickaway Action Addiction Coalition (PAAC), where they spread awareness on drug, alcohol, and addiction in the county. Caleb has played baseball, basketball, and golf for Westfall.
“I’d say baseball is my favorite sport out of the three, but my favorite memory would be basketball. My sophomore year we went down to Southeastern, and it was a crazy close game, but we came out with the win. On the way back, you’d have thought it was a party bus. I mean, freshman through senior, just all singing and carrying on. It was amazing,” Caleb shared.
Next year, Caleb is attending Carlow University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is studying physical therapy and will continue playing baseball.
The other student who visited Circleville Noon Rotary was Keiarra Maynard. She is involved with the National Honor Society. They recently finished their spring project, which was cleaning the Atlanta United Methodist Church (she was a group leader!) She also participates in FFA, where she participates in various competitions.
“One of my favorite competitions was our Parliamentary Procedure Competition, which is like a speech competition, where we just did an organized meeting, and that was pretty fun. My other favorite was an Ag Sales Competition, where we just practiced doing a good way of selling. I had a really good team for that, and we did pretty good,” Keiarra shared.
Keiarra attends Pickaway-Ross’ Allied Health program. While in the program, she has earned her phlebotomy certification and her State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) license. She is working at Logan Health Care in Circleville. She enjoys her job so much, she wishes to go into nursing in the future at the University of Cincinnati.
