Newest Inductees into the Westfall Hall of Fame

On Saturday, February 10, Westfall inducted new members into the Athletic Hall of Fame. Prior to the varsity boys' basketball game against Piketon, Westfall High School honored Randy Alkire, Bill Davis, Jerry Post, and the 2001 Boys Golf Team.


Randy Alkire

Randy is a 1971 graduate of Westfall High School. Randy was a one-year letter winner in track, on which he and his teammates set a school record in the mile relay; he was a two-year letter winner in basketball, a three-year letter winner in cross country, and a three-year letter winner in baseball. 

Randy was a member of several clubs at Westfall and earned community honors for his outstanding qualities of service, dependability, leadership, and academic achievement. After graduation, Randy attended Ohio State University and was a walk-on for the baseball team during his freshman year. He earned his degree in Zoology in 1975 and his DDS degree in 1979. 

Randy retired as an officer in the United States Air Force and Public Health Service after 24 years, six as an officer. Randy has a private orthodontic practice and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Board of Orthodontics, and the Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists. Randy and his wife, Camille, live in Albuquerque, NM. They have three children, Amanda, Sean, and Brett, and three grandchildren, Harper, Declan, and Katlyn.


Bill Davis

Bill is a 1991 graduate of Westfall High School. While in school, Bill played football and ran track. Bill was a four-letter-winner in both sports. Bill was a regional champion in the 300 hurdles and held the school record in this event. As a football player, Bill was the team MVP, Coca-Cola Player of the Week, SVC Player of the Year, McGaffney Award Winner (Pickaway County Football Player of Year), and an All-Ohio selection.  

After graduating from Westfall, Bill served our country in the United States Army for four years. Bill currently lives in Parker, Colorado,  where he is an HR director. Bill continues working with veterans in his community and is president of the non-profit group, The Brotherhood of Veterans. 


Jerry Post

Jerry started his teaching and coaching career at Westfall in 1987. In his 13 years at Westfall, he coached many sports teams, including one year of 7th-grade boys basketball, two years of 7th-grade girls basketball, eight years of middle school track, eight years of middle school football, five years of high school football, and nine years of wrestling. 

In 1992, Jerry started the first wrestling team at Westfall Middle School. A year later, he started a JV wrestling team. By the fourth year, Westfall had its first varsity wrestling team. In two short years of varsity wrestling, Westfall became one of central Ohio's top Division III schools. Since 1992, Westfall has remained one of Central Ohio's top wrestling programs. 

Jerry would like to thank the Westfall administration and the Westfall community for their continued support of the wrestling program. They gave a very young Jerry Post a dream come true! Go Mustangs!


2001 Boys Golf Team

This team won the first SVC boys golf title in school history. The team that year finished with a 91-21 overall record and 50-6 in SVC play with a team average for nine holes of 156 (39 per 4 players). They were Runner-Up in the County Meet and The Westfall Invitational. The team set eight (8) Team and eight (8) Individual Records that year. The Head Coach was Randy Williams, and the Assistant Coach was Allen Koker. To Coach Williams's knowledge, many of the records set by this team and individual records set by these specific golfers still stand.

Adam Sands (class junior) was an All SVC Academic Team and part of Two Team Records.

Garrett Marcum (class senior) was an All SVC and SVC Academic Team for two years –on the All Ohio Academic Team – A Four Year Letter Winner -The Most Improved Player – and was a part of Two Individual and Nine Team Records.

Brad Felger (class senior) was a part of Two Team Records - Three Year Letter Winner- and the Mustang Award winner.

Jared Butts (class sophomore) – At that time, as a sophomore, he was All-SVC for two years- One Individual Record and Nine Team Records – and the Number One Sophomore in the SVC. Jared and Coach Williams were inducted into the Westfall Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017.

Ryan Stroup (class senior) was a Three Year Letter winner – SVC Honorable Mention – and a part of Nine Team Records.

Jason Butts (class senior) was an All SVC Four Years – All SVC Academic Team two years – All Ohio Academic Team - SVC Player of the Year as a Junior, and Runner Up as a Senior by one stroke – Pickaway County Golfer of the Year – Team MVP – he set 11 Individual Records. He was a part of 10 Team Records.
