The safety of our students and staff will continue to be our highest priority.  In an effort to keep our school community fully informed, we will provide daily updates indicating confirmed positive COVID-19 cases by school building, as well as possible community exposure cases, for both students and staff.

Pickaway County Public Health, in connection with Westfall Local School District, will follow up with individuals determined to be close contacts of a COVID-19 positive student or staff member. Federal laws prohibit WLSD from posting the direct names of a COVID-19 positive person. The district will always maintain the confidentiality of student/staff and no data will be provided that could be linked to identifiable information.

AT HOME SCREENING

The district asks for the cooperation of families when sending students to school. We ask that parents and students go through the following screening process before leaving your home.

Is your child fever-free (less than 100.4 without the use of medications)?

If not, the child should seek medical care in order to return to school.

Is your child free from all of the following symptoms?

Fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, a new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.

Has your child had close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19?

If so, please follow all health department or physician ordered quarantining directions.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

Close Contact is defined as any individual who was within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days prior to positive specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated.

Exposure fewer than 6 feet away for more than 10 minutes to an individual who has tested positive or has been exposed to a known positive case and is exhibiting COVID-like symptoms, during their infectious period (two days prior to their test or first symptoms, until no longer showing symptoms or ten days after their positive test).

Non-Close Contact outside of 6 feet for a brief period of time. A non-close contact would have no known exposure.
