HELPFUL RESOURCES

Snapshot of our Chapter:

1. Strong Member Engagement
Westfall FFA is booming, with over 100 students participating in the program this year at Westfall High School.

2. Deep Community Connection
Our FFA chapter thrives thanks to strong collaboration within our community.

3. Creative and Educational Programming
From fun activities like BBQs and games at kickoff meetings to hands-on STEM engagement (e.g., strawberry DNA extraction with 8th graders) and elementary literacy outreach, the chapter brings agriculture to life for younger students, gaining early interest.

4. Comprehensive Coursework and Career Pathways
Students can take a range of courses, including:

  • Agricultural Physical Science

  • Agricultural Biology

  • Agricultural Business

  • Mechanical Principles

  • Animal Anatomy

  • Livestock Production

  • Greenhouse Management

  • Agronomic Systems Capstone

After their first two years, students may dive deeper, even taking dual enrollment anatomy courses, depending on their career focus.

5. Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) & Life Skills
Through SAEs, students gain real-life experience—whether through farming, working non-ag jobs like at Starbucks, or engaging in science fairs. And beyond technical skills, FFA supports financial literacy—teaching students to manage credit, balance budgets, and plan for the future.

6. Student Leadership & Dedication
FFA officers—including President, Vice President, Secretary, Reporter, Historian, Treasurer, Sentinel, and Student Advisor—are deeply committed to their roles. Many dedicate extra time before and after school, during lunch, and in study halls to drive chapter success.

7. Building for the Future: Greenhouse Plans & Community Events
In 2019, the chapter received a grant to install a greenhouse and collaborated with Pickaway-Ross to construct it from the ground up. The project was officially unveiled in May 2025, when FFA hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the new addition to our district.
