Middle School Temporarily Shifts to Hybrid Learning
Middle School Temporarily Shifts to Hybrid Learning
Westfall Local Schools
Thursday, November 12, 2020

Dear Westfall Middle School Families,

We have now been on a five-day-per-week schedule for nearly six weeks, and things have actually gone quite smoothly.  With nearly 1,500 students/staff here daily, we have had several staff members that have been in quarantine which makes it extremely challenging to provide effective in-person learning and supervision.

This past week, the middle school has been hit hard.  Today, we have 8 staff members out with related COVID cases. The combination of staff and students quarantined makes it almost impossible to deliver lessons effectively.

I have decided that effective tomorrow, Friday, November 13, middle school students will stay home and access their work via Google Classroom.  Thereafter, the hybrid schedule will be utilized from Monday, November 16 through Tuesday, November 24.  Group-A students will attend school on Mondays and Tuesdays, and Group-B students will attend on Thursdays and Fridays.

Please note:  The elementary school will be on their normal schedule.

We cannot control which preventative measures our middle school students will take while not in school.  We hope their actions will demonstrate their desire that things will get much better, and our students will have a normal finish to this school year.

Thank you for your flexibility during this challenging time!
