Judy Wolford, 2017 Inductee
Judy Wolford is a lifelong resident of Pickaway County, born and raised in Perry Township. A 1977 graduate of Westfall High School, she went on to The Ohio State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in Dairy Science.
Judy attended law school at Capital University, graduating in 1993. She has served as an Assistant County Prosecutor and as an Assistant City Law Director. In March, 2006 she became the County Prosecutor and has served in that capacity since that time. Recently, Judy has taken it upon herself to help combat the heroin addiction problem in Pickaway County by getting involved in the County Heroin Coalition. She works with law enforcement, judges, doctors, and other leaders throughout the community on methods to combat this terrible addiction. She has also been selected to sit on the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association Legislative Committee. Earlier this year, Judy accepted an appointment with the Supreme Court of Ohio to serve on the Commission on the Rules of Practice and Procedure. These are just a few of Judy’s accomplishments over her nearly 24 years of practicing law in Ohio.
Outside of her duties and obligations associated with the law, Judy is also active in production agriculture with the Silver Mist Holsteins, a family dairy farm located in Madison Township. When she isn’t milking cows and shoveling manure, Judy is active in our local community. She is active in the Circleville Noon Rotary club where she has served as President. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Circleville Pickaway Corporation and is a member of the Advisory Council for Berger Hospital. She is a past member of the Haven House Board of Directors. Additionally, she is active with Farm Bureau and the District 5 Holstein Club and was appointed by Gov. Taft to serve on the Ohio Ag Financing Commission.
Her colleagues speak of how impressed they are with her exemplary character, integrity, and willingness to give back to her community. These qualities and her commitment to her work and community make Judy a prime example of what we would like students to strive to achieve. It is in that spirit that Westfall High School would like to name Judy C. Wolford as the 2017 recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award.
